TRAVIS SCOTT – OUT OF THIS WORLD
A thing I like to do here over at Music Savant blog is listening to new albums and give my top 3 tracks from the entire project. Without any further ado here are my top 3 songs from Travis Scott’s “ASTROWORLD” and reasoning behind why I chose these as my top tracks.
- #1 SICKO MODE – I love the switch from a hook with Drake to some banging drums that compliment Travis Scott. This seems like a new style and I really enjoy it. I feel like any feature from Drake these days is almost a guaranteed hit but Travis Scott doesn’t disappoint on his end. There is a switch up at 3:00 when Drake comes in on what seems like it’s a new beat but it’s the same song. It’s honestly an amazing work of art and I hope you give SICKO MODE a listen. This track earned my #1 spot off of ASTROWORLD.
- #2 BUTTERFLY EFFECT – This track has been out for quite some time, but it still has the feel-good effect that’s its always had. It’s been favorite for a lot of my friends while DJing house parties and I still love it.
- #3 WAKE UP – I haven't heard The Weekend for a while so it was refreshing to have him on one of the tracks. It's just hard to wake up some days and I feel like that's what Travis Scott was going for but with an awesome song to make it seem better.
This album has been the toughest for me to review thus far. Every time I had a top 3 I feel like I had to make some changes because the next song was almost as good as the last. I believe that Travis Scott is a true talent within the Hip-Hop/ Rap scene and should not be taken lightly. His name and legacy will continue through his music. For these reasons, I have scored ASTROWORLD, an album by Travis Scott, at a 7/10. I also believe that this album is album of the Summer, topping Drake’s Scorpion, J Cole’s K. O. D and Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers 2. All of these guys are great artists and had awesome albums but ASTROWORLD by Travis Scott is a game changer.
